e-GCMS
GCMS (Global Case Management System) is a centralized system used by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada).
GCMS notes are the only way to get accurate processing details from the IRCC about your application. The client now has the option whether they want to obtain their GCMS notes from IRCC or CBSA. These notes can be used as an evidence before federal court and Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. You can get your electronic notes delivered in your e-mail inbox.
What is the processing time for the GCMS notes?
The processing time to obtain GCMS notes through Access to Information Act is generally 30-40
business days.
What do I need to apply for GCMS notes?
Before initiating the process to request the GCMS notes you need the following ready:
1. Your date of birth and full name as it appears on your immigration application.
2. Date of birth and full name of your spouse or common law partner (if you have a spouse or common law partner included in your application).
3.The application number for your application. You can have multiple application numbers if you have filed multiple application so we just need the application number for the application for which you want the GCMS notes. For application number examples click here.
4. The UCI (Unique Client Identifier) is also asked for more reliable processing. An individual can only have one UCI even if you have filed for multiple applications. This number is usually 8 digits or 10 digits separated by hyphens.
GCMS+
If you order GCMS+ notes you will get electronic notes along with entire copy of your application along with all the supporting documents and correspondence that were attached with file that were sent to IRCC in electronic format in email.
What is the processing time for GCMS+?
It usually takes 30-45 days to receive your GCMS+ documents from IRCC in email.
What do I need to apply for GCMS+ notes?
Before initiating the process to request the GCMS+ notes you need the following ready:
1. Your date of birth and full name as it appears on your immigration application.
2. Date of birth and full name of your spouse or common law partner (if you have a spouse or common law partner included in your application.
3.The application number for your application. You can have multiple application numbers if you have filed multiple application so we just need the application number for the application for which you want the GCMS+ notes. For application number examples click here.

A person can also obtain application processing information on their security screening from Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) or Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) or travel History report on border crossing from CBSA.

The average processing time varies from 50 to 60 days.
What do I need to retrieve information from CBSA/CSIS?
Before initiating the process to retrieve information from CBSA/CSIS you need the following
ready:
1.Your date of birth and full name as it appears on your immigration application
2.Date of birth and full name of your spouse or common law partner (if you have a spouse or common law partner included in your application).
3.The application number for your application. You can have multiple application numbers if you have filed multiple application so we just need your current application number for the application. An application number is an Alphabet followed by numbers. For application number examples click here.
