A person can always approach an immigration lawyer, or an IRCC consultant to help them
obtain the GCMS notes, get GCMS analysis and obtain e-GCMS notes. You can also get guidance
about the alternate solutions to obtain permanent residency, study permit, work permit, visitor
visa etc and they can help and guide you through the entire process.
What is the processing time if you go through legal opinion?
The average processing time varies from 50 to 60 days.
What do I need to retrieve information using the legal opinion?
Before initiating the process to retrieve information from CBSA/CSIS you need the following
ready:
 Your date of birth and full name as it appears on your immigration application
 Date of birth and full name of your spouse or common law partner (if you have a spouse
or common law partner included in your application).
 The application number for your application. You can have multiple application numbers
if you have filed multiple application so we just need your current application number.
An application number is an Alphabet followed by numbers. For application number

 The UCI (Unique Client Identifier) is also asked for more reliable processing. An
individual can only have one UCI even if you have filed for multiple applications. This
number is usually 8 digits or 10 digits separated by hyphens.
